Foreman

Thorcon Shotcrete and Shoring is a reputable, Colorado-based Geotechnical Contractor. Our technical team specializes in slope stabilization and design-build projects that include Micro-Piles, Shotcrete/Gunite, Rock Bolts & Ground Anchors on DOT, Federal, Heavy Civil, Commercial and Residential projects.

Established in 2014, Thorcon has seen rapid growth since 2018 – posting increases of 30% plus each year. As Thorcon grows our footprint is spreading – we now operate in six states and counting.

The Foreman position is a supervisory role on all Thorcon Job sites. As a Foreman in this role you will direct, supervise, layout, and troubleshoot routine issues that occur on the job site. In addition to ensuring that safety rules are followed on the site at all times, the Forman will work with the Superintendent to meet production and work schedules.

The Foreman reports to the Superintendent, and will work closely with the Project Managers, Equipment Manager, and Materials Manager.

Primary Functions

  • Work alongside Field crewmembers on any task that needs to be completed for the good of the project
  • Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery and personnel while communicating with the Superintendent
  • Maximize efficiency and productivity of crewmembers
  • Delegate project specific responsibilities to crew members and contractors
  • Train, manage, and mentor field labors
  • Coordinate activities with contractor and other subcontractors onsite
  • Emphasize safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment while providing training on PPE safety gear and procedures
  • Work with Superintendent to understand project budgets and work quality standards for the job site
  • Resolve conflicts or miscommunications quickly and professionally
  • Regularly report project status to Superintendent, Project Manager, Inspectors/Engineers and other officials, as required

Requirements

  • 2 to 3 years of field experience
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be on time to work
  • Ability to understand and follow directions from Superintendent
  • Ability to problem-solve on the spot
  • Well-organized with multi-tasking abilities
  • Ability to lift 100lbs
  • Ability to work on your feet for a full shift day after day
  • Ability to travel 30% of the time
  • Understand and follow all company policies
  • Must pass a drug test
  • High school diploma is preferred
  • Well-organized with multi-tasking abilities
  • Experience in Construction and Geotechnical construction a plus

Compensation

Thorcon pays a competitive wage, which depends on experience. The Foreman position ranges from $40,500 to $55,000 salary, with an incentive compensation bonus program in addition to salary. Thorcon offers great growth potential and opportunities for advancement.
